Back in Action (Take Two)

June 22nd, 2008 · No Comments

Okay, so I know I said that I was back before and then I kind of disappeared again with some computer issues, but I have a working keyboard now (I was posting through text-typing on my cell phone’s number pad before and that just doesn’t work well AT ALL) so we should be good to go for real this time.

Yesterday was the Prairie State Festival at Arlington Park, which consisted on 6 ungraded stakes races for Illinois-breds at various distances on turf and polytrack. I love these types of incentives for Illinois-bred horses and their connections, and it was a very exciting day for some very familiar names and faces (both human and equine). Among the highlights was trainer Christine Janks won the White Oak stakes for the third year in a row, this time with Mighty Rule. I don’t have the rest of the results in front of me at the moment, but I will try to give a more complete run-down when I am not sitting in my car.

Among other news, blast-from-the-past Scrappy T took fifth in a small turf handicap at Colonial Downs, and Court Vision took third in the Colonial Turf Cup (also at Colonial Downs) behind winner Sailors Cap. Adriano was also in the race, but came home unplaced.
